2. Minerals:

China Clay/Kaolin
Kaolin (china clay)” is soft white clay that is an essential ingredient in the manufacture of ceramics, glass, porcelain, etc. & is widely used in the making of paper, rubber, paint, and many other products.

Feldspar
Feldspars are composed of aluminum, silicon, and oxygen combined with varying amounts of one or more metals, particularly potassium, sodium, and calcium. Feldspar is an important source of alumina in the glass-making & ceramics industries. In ceramics, it acts as a flux and provides the vitreous luster of chinaware and ceramic tiles. It is used in glazes and enamels and is an important mineral filler in paints, plastics, and sealants.

Guar Gum
Guar gum is a gel-forming fiber from the seed of the guar plant. It’s used to thicken foods and is also used as a dietary supplement. Guar gum helps normalize the moisture content of the stool, absorbing excess liquid in those with diarrhea, and softening the stool in those with constipation.

Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous earth, diatomite, celite, or kieselgur/kieselguhr is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that can be crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder.
It is used to remove unwanted material from drinking water.
It is also used as a filler or to prevent the formation of lumps in foods, medicine, paints and plastics, and pet litter. It is used to clean up spills or for insulation in industry, as well as to scrub things.

Ball Clay
Ball clay is a very plastic high-firing clay that fires white to light buff and is used especially to give plasticity to clayware bodies containing short clays.

Wollastonite
Wollastonite is a naturally occurring mineral that is a chemical combination of calcium, silicon and oxygen. These properties to meet the needs of the plastics, paints, ceramics, friction products, construction materials, and adhesives & sealants producers.

Talc
Talc is a hydrous magnesium silicate with a chemical formula of Mg3Si4O10(OH)2. Talc has many uses in cosmetics and other personal care products.

Dolomite
Dolomite is used as a source of magnesium metal and magnesia (MgO), which is a constituent of refractory bricks. Dolostone is often used instead of limestone as an aggregate for both cement and bitumen mixes and also as a flux in blast furnaces.

Bleaching Earth
Bleaching earth is used in the refining of vegetable oils and animal fats for human con- Sumption. The absorbent capacity of the bleaching earth removes the impurities and unwanted matter, such as coloring substances (carotenoids), soaps, proteins and others, found in oils and fats.

5. Quartz

Quartz is one of the most common minerals in the Earth’s crust. As a mineral name, quartz refers to a specific chemical compound (silicon dioxide, or silica, SiO2), having a specific crystalline form (hexagonal). It is found is all forms of rock: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. Quartz is physically and chemically resistant to weathering. When quartz-bearing rocks become weathered and eroded, the grains of resistant quartz are concentrated in the soil, in rivers, and on beaches. The white sands typically found in river beds and on beaches are usually composed mainly of quartz,
